Hello Students and Parents,
This is my first blog post to help to support parents and students to keep up with the work and assignments required in my courses. I teach ELA 7, ELA 7/8, Math 7, Math 8 and a Resource Class. If your student is in those courses I will update both the course page, and here with important details or updates as they are needed.
The purpose for this first post is mostly for my ELA Courses. I am pushing for students to read more! I know they are busy with homework at home, and at school, but there needs to be reading to support their development. I have only had one student so far this school year complete an Accelerated Reading Quiz. These are important to monitor students' reading comprehension and encourage them to read more! If your student is spending too long reading a book, or keeps changing books, they are going to have trouble comprehending their text.
So, just a friendly reminder, to read more! :) There is time in school to read (during first hour), and sporadically throughout their other courses. Take advantage of this time, and find a book you truly enjoy. See me if you need help finding a book!
**PS: Wednesday (October 15th) is a Late Start Day. Students report to school one hour later than usual (8:45 AM).
